5G Devices Ecosystem September 2024
Since the previous edition of this report in July, the number of announced 5G devices reached a total of 2,943 devices, with the proportion of commercially available devices now up to 86.6%.
Summary statistics from the latest update on the 5G device ecosystem include:
- 29 announced form factors
- 286 manufacturers with announced available or forthcoming 5G devices
- 2,943 announced devices, of which at least 2,549 are understood to be commercially available
- 1,087 announced devices with support for standalone 5G in sub-6 GHz bands, 893 of which are commercially available
- Fixed wireless access CPE represents 10.6% of announced 5G devices, as more manufacturers continue to roll out the technology
- Phones are the most prevalent 5G device, with the number of announced phones rising by 72% since the end of December 2022
The number of commercially available devices has been growing steadily since the start of the year and should continue in this manner.
