As of April 2025, GSA has catalogued 3,378 announced 5G devices, with 2,977 (88.1%) commercially available — reflecting a 25.9% rise in commercial device availability over the past year. The ecosystem spans 32 device form factors from 318 manufacturers.
Key highlights from the April 2025 update include:
- Phones dominate, with 1,753 models (at least 1,664 commercially available).
- Fixed wireless access CPE devices total 337, with at least 238 available.
- Modules (326), industrial routers or modems (330), and hot spots (101) also represent significant segments.
- GSA identified 1,091 devices supporting standalone 5G in sub-6 GHz bands; 895 are commercially available.
- Market growth has been steady but year-on-year growth in 5G device count dropped below 30% for the first time in March 2025, down from over 100% in 2021.
- Nonetheless, momentum continues in 2025, particularly for phones and fixed wireless access devices.
Regarding spectrum, 78.2% of devices support sub-6 GHz, but only 5% support millimetre wave. Dual support is found in just 3.3% of devices. Band n78 remains the most widely supported, followed by n41, n1 and n77.
GSA expects continued growth and increasing detail as more devices reach the market and become available in its GAMBoD database.
