Seventy Commercial 5G Networks in forty countries.
With the launch of Softbank’s 5G network, GSA can now confirm there are 70 commercial 5G networks being tracked in the GSA GAMBoD database. Softbank joins NTT DoCoMo Inc. and KDDI Inc. providing ultra-fast mobile services in Japan. Rakuten, the 4th mobile operator in Japan is expected to launch its service on 8th April.
Latest update March 2020
By the end of March 2020 381 operators in 123 countries had announced they were investing in 5G.
A total of 70 operators in 40 countries had launched one or more 3GPP-compliant 5G services.

- 63 operators had launched 3GPP-compliant 5G mobile services (57 full launches, 6 limited availability launches).
- 34 operators had launched 3GPP-compliant 5G FWA or home broadband services (27 full launches, 7 limited availability launches).
