5G Market Snapshot November 2020 – Global update
122 Commercial 5G Networks now launched worldwide.
By mid-November 2020 407 operators in 129 countries/territories were investing in 5G, including trials, acquisition of licences, planning, network deployment and launches.
(This number excludes over 190 additional companies awarded spectrum in the US CBRS PAL auction, all of which could be used for 5G).
146 operators had announced they had deployed 3GPP compliant technology in their live networks. Of those, a total of 122 operators in 49 countries/territories had launched one or more 3GPP-compliant 5G services. 115 operators in 47 countries/territories had launched 3GPP-compliant 5G mobile services 40 operators in 23 countries/territories had launched 3GPP-compliant 5G FWA or home broadband services
Nine operators had announced limited availability or soft launches no longer counted in the above launch figures.

GAMBoD, the GSA Analyser for Mobile Broadband Data, is a unique search and analysis tool we developed to support our Members and Associates with the most up to date information on 4G & 5G devices networks, technologies and spectrum. Search results are presented as a list, or as a spreadsheet, or in charts that may be inserted into documents or presentations, subject to accreditation of GSA as the source.
The LTE Devices database can be searched by supplier, form factor, features, peak downlink and uplink speeds, and operating frequency. The NTS (Networks, Technologies & Spectrum) database can be searched by MBB technology, feature, UE category, downlink speed, spectrum bands used and can be segmented by region. Results are presented as a list or in charts. Charts may be inserted into documents or presentations, subject to accreditation of GSA as the source.
