C-Band Spectrum has been licensed to 64 operators for 5G
C-Band Spectrum (n77, n78: 3.3-4.2 GHz) is used for LTE as well
- The lower end of the spectrum band is partially used for LTE.
- LTE Band 42 (3400-3600 MHz): 62 licensed operators in 32 countries. 46 have launched in 28 countries.
- LTE Band 43 (3600-3800 MHz): 39 licensed operators in 14 countries. 13 have launched services.
- Relatively few LTE devices: 268 devices support Band 42 (205 routers). 204 support Band 43 (171 routers).
- C-Band spectrum has emerged as a leading frequency range for 5G.
- 137 operators investing: 69 are evaluating/ testing/trialling 5G in this spectrum. 68 are licensed to use C-Band for 5G, of which 43 are deploying, have deployed, or have launched 5G networks using this spectrum.
- Auctions/allocations are underway Hungary, Israel, New Zealand, and Taiwan. Auctions/allocations are planned in an additional 24 countries.
