Private Mobile Networks June 2025
The private mobile network market in 1Q25 reflects a maturing yet dynamic landscape, fuelled by the digital transformation demands of industry and government.
GSA has catalogued 1,772 customer references for 4G LTE and 5G private mobile network deployments valued at over €100,000, with an additional 137 references between €50,000 and €100,000.
The pace of acquiring new customer references slowed, reflecting temporary macroeconomic uncertainty and reporting delays, but members of the GSA Private Mobile Networks Special Interest Group (SIG) noted expansion within existing accounts, including additional sites.
Other highlights in 1Q25 include:
Manufacturing continues to dominate, with eight new references in the quarter, and remains the top sector alongside education and mining. The United States leads in total deployments, followed by Germany, the United Kingdom, China and Japan.
5G accounts for 47% of deployments, often in trial or research settings, with LTE still more widely used in operational networks.
The CBRS band remains the most used in the US, while Europe and Asia–Pacific show varied spectrum strategies.
Despite fewer new deployments, the underlying trend points to continued broader adoption of LTE and 5G private networks, with further growth expected as more spectrum becomes available and existing users expand their deployments. GSA plans to improve future reporting with enhanced metrics capturing site-level roll-outs.
