Status of the LTE Ecosystem report: GSA confirms 3,745 LTE devices announced by 339 suppliers
November 2, 2015 – [950.2 KB]
This updated report, which was researched and published by GSA (Global mobile Suppliers Association) and published on November 2, 2015 confirms the maturity and fast growing ecosystem of LTE user devices. Our latest research increased to 3,745 the number of LTE user devices we have included in our database that have been announced to the market by 339 suppliers. Support for each of the main operating FDD and TDD frequency bands is stated.

LTE1800 (Band 3) is the best supported band and has the largest LTE devices ecosystem.

The number of LTE devices i.e. 3,745 as confirmed in this report is 1,527 higher than GSA reported in October 2014, representing 69% growth. The number of manufacturers participating in this market grew over 85% in the same period.

Cat 4 and Cat 6 terminals are identified and quantified, confirming rapid expansion of choice, as are terminals that support VoLTE.

The number of terminals that support LTE TDD (TD-LTE) is growing strongly, and gaining share. 1,408 LTE TDD devices are included in our database, which means that 37.6% of all LTE devices support LTE TDD (TD-LTE).

There are 2,200 LTE smartphones, including operator and frequency variants, representing an improved 58.7% share of all device types and is the largest device category. LTE connected tablet PCs is also a fast growing device segment.
