150 mobile operators in 87 countries have launched HD voice service enabled by W-AMR technology.
128 deployments are on 3G/HSPA networks
17 deployments are on 2G/GSM networks
40 deployments are on LTE networks (VoLTE)
Some operators offer HD voice service on more than one radio system (2G/GSM, 3G/HSPA, 4G/LTE). 19 operators have launched HD voice service so far in 2015.
The VoLTE market is advancing strongly and continues in 2015 as a main industry trend. 40 operators have launched HD voice service using VoLTE for their 4G/LTE customers in 28 countries, compared to only 16 VoLTE live systems 10 months ago.
This latest data is published in the Mobile HD voice Global Update report published by GSA on December 15th, 2015. The report confirms the status of mobile HD voice operator commitments, deployments on GSM, HSPA and LTE (i.e. enabled by VoLTE) networks, service launches worldwide, and the supporting W-AMR capable devices ecosystem.
