Industry support for the APT700 band plan is strong. Whereas APT700 provides both FDD and TDD spectrum arrangements, it is the FDD plan (3GPP band 28) that has gained global support from industry and regulators in markets addressing around 4 billion people.
Dozens of countries have allocated, committed to, or recommend allocating APT700 FDD (band 28) spectrum for LTE deployments around the world, as listed in this short status summary, which is an extract from the Evolution to LTE report published on October 26, 2016.
28 operators have commercially launched LTE networks using APT700 band 28 spectrum in 15 countries. All are listed.
Complete details per operator are available in the Evolution to LTE report published on October 26, 2016 https://gsacom.com/paper/gsa-evolution-lte-october-2016/
The APT700 user devices ecosystem is rapidly building. Currently 469 terminals compatible with band 28 are announced.
