By mid-January 2019, the number of deployed or launched NB-IoT networks had doubled in 12 months: 78 operators in 45 countries have deployed or launched NB-IoT networks.
Launches identified by GSA since the last report include Chunghwa (Taiwan), IndosatOoredoo and Telkomsel(Indonesia), Slovak Telecom, Swisscom, Telia(Estonia) and Vodafone Hungary.
Thirty operators have deployed or launched LTE-M networks in 21 countries, up from only nine operators in January 2018.
Launches identified since the last report include Bell Mobility (Canada), Orange Romania, Swisscom (Switzerland), Telenor (Norway), and Telus(Canada) and Vodafone New Zealand.
Altogether 47 countries now have at least either a launched NB-IoT network or a launched LTE-M network and 19 of those countries have both network types.
