- We will examine a snapshot of the Asia–Pacific region, covering LTE and 5G networks, private mobile networks, spectrum allocations, 2G and 3G switch-offs, 5G RedCap and satellite deployments.
2G and 3G Networks Are Slowly Switching Off.
- Globally, 278 switch-offs in 83 countries have been completed, are in progress or are planned
- Of these, 34 operators in 14 countries have completed switch-offs in the Asia–Pacific region
- A further 21 operators in 11 countries are planning switch-offs
5G in Asia–Pacific
- As of the end of July 2025, 117 operators in 35 countries globally are investing in 5G
- Asia–Pacific represents 18% of these investments.
- Of these, 69 operators in 26 countries have launched 5G
- Asia–Pacific contributes 20% of all launches.
- A further seven operators in seven countries are deploying 5G; 17 operators in eight countries are planning deployments.
