5G-Advanced: Latest Key Data

5G-Advanced is still at an early stage, but its growth rate makes it one of the clearest signals of where the market is heading next.

A rising number of operator investments and launches shows that leading players are already exploring how to build on standalone foundations with more advanced performance, intelligence and efficiency. At this stage, 5G-Advanced is less a mass-market reality than a strategic indicator of the technologies and service models likely to shape the next evolution of 5G.

Key Industry Data – as of 20th April 2026

35 operators are investing in the technology, an increase of 71% since last year. Of these, 11 operators have launched a service.
8 operators launched a 5G-Advanced service throughout 2025, with du in the United Arab Emirates having launched a service in December 2025.

Bell Mobility in Canada is the latest operator to launch a 5G-Advanced service, as of March 2026.

Softbank/Ymobile Corp in Japan, Zain in Kuwait and Viettel in Vietnam are currently trialling the technology and Smartone in Hong Kong SAR is planning to introduce a 5G-Advanced service in the near future.

There are 8 commercial 5G-Advanced chipsets available from Qualcomm and Sequans.
