Job Opening: President and Secretariat of the Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA)

About GSA
The Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) is a not-for-profit industry association based in Zurich, Switzerland. GSA promotes the 3GPP family of technologies (GSM, WCDMA, LTE, 5G, and beyond) and acts as the public voice of its global membership. It provides research, advocacy, and thought leadership to advance mobile broadband and connectivity.
The Role
We are seeking a hands-on leader to take on the combined role of President and Secretariat. This position covers both the strategic leadership and operational management of GSA.
Reporting to the Executive Board, the individual will be responsible for executing the Association’s strategy while ensuring efficient day-to-day operations.
Part 1: President Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy:
Chair the Executive Board and help define GSA’s strategic direction.
Represent GSA in public forums, webinars, and industry events.
Operational Oversight:
Manage contractors (PR, Web, Research, IT, Legal, Finance).
Oversee Secretariat functions and ensure policy adherence.
Coordinate working groups and strategic partnerships.
Finance & Governance:
Develop and monitor the annual budget.
Ensure compliance with finance policy and provide regular reporting.
Liaise with auditors and relevant authorities.
Communications:
Maintain the GSA website and ensure content aligns with GSA messaging.
Promote GSA’s value and thought leadership to external stakeholders.
Part 2: Secretariat Responsibilities
Administration & Membership:
Manage day-to-day operations, Board meetings, and member services.
Handle membership applications, renewals, and inquiries.
Finance Support:
Maintain accounting records and manage the GSA bank account.
Process payments, track expenses, and prepare regular reports.
IT & Web:
Administer email systems, cloud access, and website updates.
Marketing & Events:
Support brand messaging, PR activities, and the GSA content calendar.
Coordinate logistics for GSA events and industry participation.
Candidate Profile
10+ years of senior experience in the mobile industry.
Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
Proven ability in financial oversight and remote team coordination.
Comfortable with both strategic and operational tasks.
Terms & Application
Remote role, with some travel (budget provided).
Approx. 20–25 days/month, with peak periods at quarter-end.
Remuneration to be agreed.
