5G-Devices Ecosystem January 2022 – Member Report
Key facts
The number of announced 5G devices has risen by 8.9% in the last month to reach a total of 1257 devices. Of these devices, 857 are understood to be commercially available representing 68.2% of all announced 5G devices. This is an increase of 21.7% in the number of commercial 5G devices over the last quarter.

We can expect the availability of devices to continue to improve and for more information about announced devices to emerge as they reach the market. Based on vendors’ previous statements and recent rates of device release, we might expect to see the number of commercial devices getting close to the 1000 mark by the end of Q1 2022. GSA will continue to track and report on 5G device launches during the coming year. Its GAMBoD database contains key details about device form factors, features and support for spectrum bands. Summary statistics are released in this regular monthly publication.
