5G-Ecosystem February 2023 Summary Report

The number of announced 5G devices rose by 0.9% between December 2022 and January 2023 to reach a total of 1,815 devices. Of these, 1,447 are understood to be commercially available, representing 79.8% of all announced 5G devices. This is an increase of 65.7% in the number of commercial 5G devices since the end of January 2022. Highlights this edition include:

225 manufacturers with announced available or forthcoming 5G devices
923 announced phones, up 15 from December 2022, at least 849 of which are now commercially available
1,016 announced devices with declared support for standalone 5G in sub-6 GHz bands, 818 of which are commercially available
Not all devices are available immediately and specification details remain limited for some. We expect devices to continue to become more widely available and for more information about announced devices to emerge as they reach the market.

The number of commercially available devices rose slowly throughout January 2023, coming just short of 1,450. This should steadily increase through the rest of the year. GSA will continue to track and report on 5G device launches during the coming year. Its GAMBoD database contains important details about device form factors, features and support for spectrum bands. Summary statistics are released in this regular monthly publication.
