5G-Ecosystem January 2024 Member report
Between November and December 2023, the number of announced 5G devices picked up 3.5% to reach a total of 2,358 devices, with the proportion of commercially available devices now up to 83.2%.
Summary statistics from the latest update on the 5G device ecosystem include:
- 28 announced form factors
- 261 manufacturers with announced available or forthcoming 5G devices
- 2,358 announced devices, of which at least 1,964 are understood to be commercially available
- 1,098 announced devices with support for standalone 5G in sub-6 GHz bands, 904 of which are commercially available
- Fixed wireless access CPE represents 13.1% of announced 5G devices, as more manufacturers continue to roll out the technology
- Phones are the most prevalent 5G device, with the number of announced phones rising by 39% since the end of December 2022
The number of commercially available devices has been growing steadily since the start of the year and should continue in this manner.
