Industry support for the APT700 band plan is strong. Whereas APT700 provides both FDD and TDD spectrum arrangements, it is the FDD plan (3GPP band 28) that has gained global support from industry and regulators in markets addressing around 4 billion people.
Dozens of countries have allocated, committed to, or recommend allocating APT700 FDD (band 28) spectrum for LTE deployments around the world, as listed in this status report, which is an extract from the Evolution to LTE report published on January 30, 2017 https://gsacom.com/paper/gsa-evolution-lte-report-january-2017/
34 operators have commercially launched LTE networks using APT700 band 28 spectrum in 18 countries, as listed in this report.
Complete details per operator are available in the mentioned Evolution to LTE report.
The APT700 user devices ecosystem is rapidly building. Currently 550 terminals compatible with band 28 are announced and included in GSA’s GAMBoD devices database.
