This report is restricted to GSA Member companies, GSA Associates and Operators until February 28th, 2017
Main points:
- 790 operators investing in LTE in 201 countries
- 764 operator commitments in 196 countries
- 26 pre-commitment trials in 5 more countries
- 581 commercially launched LTE, LTE-Advanced or LTE-Advanced Pro networks in 186 countries including:
- 95 LTE TDD (TD-LTE) launched in 54 countries
- 183 launched networks are LTE-Advanced in 87 countries of which 17 use LTE-Advanced Pro technologies
- GSA forecasts c. 635 commercially launched LTE networks by end 2017
- Operator investments in LTE-Advanced or LTE-Advanced Pro (deployments, commercial launches, trials, studies) span 100 countries
- 102 operators commercially launched VoLTE-HD voice service in 54 countries
- 7,037 LTE user devices announced (GSA – January 13, 2017)
- 1.683 billion LTE subscriptions globally: Q3 2016
