LTE Ecosystem December 2023
Our December 2023 update on the LTE device ecosystem confirms that 25,789 user devices have been announced, including commercial 5G devices also supporting LTE. This represents a 10.2% increase since November 2022.
Highlights this edition include:
Mobile phones account for the largest number of identified devices, with 13,256 models catalogued, taking a 51.4% share of all LTE devices.
Of the 25,789 LTE-capable user devices known to GSA, 88.4% support the LTE-FDD mode.
A significant proportion of high-end devices are also 5G devices: 78.6% of them, up slightly from 75.8% in the previous quarter.
The majority of IoT low-power wide area devices are modules, but industrial and private network CPE and routers are also a strong form factor for LTE Cat-1 devices, with 1,026 devices announced.
