More than 430 operators have launched public LTE FWA networks
As of end of February 2022, GSA’s data showed:
- There are 806 operators with commercially launched public LTE networks offering broadband fixed wireless access and/or mobile services
- Within this, GSA has identified:
- 431 operators that have launched public LTE fixed wireless access services (excluding those offering MiFi or dongle services only)
- 779 operators that offer public mobile LTE services
- 165# operators have been identified as actively using (either deploying or have launched) TDD spectrum for LTE services
- 599#! operators have been identified as actively using (either deploying or have launched) FDD spectrum for LTE services
- 370! operators are investing in one or more LTE-Advanced technologies, with 350! networks identified as launched

209 operators have launched commercial public 5G services, in 81 countries/territories
As of end of February 2022, GSA’s data showed:
- 489 operators in 146 countries/territories have been investing in 5G networks in the form of tests, pilots, licence acquisitions, planned and actual deployments
- Of those, 209 operators in 83 countries/territories have launched commercial 3GPP-compatible 5G services (mobile or fixed wireless access)
- 99 operators are identified as investing in 5G standalone for public networks (including those evaluating, testing, piloting, planning or deploying as well as those that have launched 5G standalone networks). GSA has catalogued 20 operators as having deployed or launched 5G standalone in public networks
