Francesc Boixadera currently leads the MediaTek European Research and Standards team. During his career Francesc has been involved the definition and implementation of several cellular wireless technology generations, including GSM/GPRS, UMTS, TD-SCDMA, CDMA2000, LTE, NB-IOT, 5G and Iridium while at Mediatek, Motorola, MStar Semiconductor and TTPcom. He started in 1996 as a wireless research engineer with Motorola Labs and has since held various positions in cellular research and standards, contributing to 3GPP RAN groups, CEPT and ITU-R. Francesc has also held lead modem baseband architecture and implementation positions for the development of cellular chipsets that have shipped in large volumes in global smartphone consumer brands.
Francesc Boixadera holds a dual MSc degree with Telecom Paris-Tech and with Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, Barcelona.
