Mobile infrastructure and device vendor joins board of organisation representing global 4G and 5G ecosystem
17 March 2020, London – The Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) today announced that ZTE, a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, has become an Executive Member of the industry association representing the global 4G and 5G mobile ecosystem. ZTE was previously an Ordinary Member; now as an Executive Member, ZTE joins Ericsson, Huawei, Intel, Nokia, Qualcomm and Samsung on the GSA Executive Committee.
“There’s much talk about ‘the race to 5G’, but the reality is that while it is clearly a highly competitive market, it’s also highly collaborative,” said Joe Barrett, President, GSA. “5G doesn’t belong to one company or country; there is a whole ecosystem of regulators, vendors and operators who are working together to drive global harmonisation of spectrum, innovation in networks and devices, and new use cases for 5G in both consumer and enterprise markets. We’re delighted to welcome ZTE as a new Executive Member and look forward to continuing to build the mobile future together.”
“Whether it is speaking as the voice of the vendor community in critical global and local spectrum discussions or tracking vital industry data which helps inform our product roadmap, GSA is at the heart of the mobile ecosystem,” said Dao Tian, ZTE and new GSA Executive Board Member. “We believe passionately that the industry is at its best when working together towards a shared goal of a Mobile Internet that can transform how we live, work and play. ZTE is proud to now be an Executive Member of GSA and to join our peers in helping steer the future of the industry.”
