GSA joins Europe’s first Automotive-Telecom Alliance
37 leading companies join forces in European Automotive-Telecom Alliance to launch connected and automated driving project Paris, Brussels, 30 September 2016 – At a Round Table on Connected and Automated Driving initiated and chaired by Günther H. Oettinger, European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, the automotive and telecom industries have today formally announced the creation of Europe’s first Automotive-Telecom Alliance. The Alliance includes six leading sectorial associations, as well as 37 companies, including telecom operators, vendors, automobile manufacturers and suppliers for both cars and trucks.

GSA confirms 521 LTE networks launched, LTE-Advanced now mainstream
521 operators have commercially launched LTE, LTE-Advanced or LTE-Advanced Pro networks in 170 countries, according to data recently released by GSA, the Global mobile Suppliers Association, in its latest update of the Evolution to LTE report. 74 mobile operators commercially launched 4G/LTE service in the past year. Bermuda, Gibraltar, Jamaica, Liberia, Myanmar, Samoa, and Sudan are amongst the latest countries to launch 4G/LTE. 738 operators are investing in LTE across 194 countries. 9th June 2016 GSA confirms global LTE subscriptions doubled in past year to reach 1.29 billion in Q1 2016 June 9, 2016: GSA, the Global mobile Suppliers Association, confirms that LTE continues to grow faster than any other mobile communications system technology.
